About Possip

Possip helps organizations strengthen their culture and performance by making it easy to hear from their people and act on what they say.

We’re a growing SaaS company with roots in K–12 education and an ambitious vision to expand into new industries where consistent listening drives real impact. Our tools combine AI and human insight to deliver powerful feedback loops—turning voices into action and driving continuous improvement.

As we evolve our product to meet new needs, we’re looking for curious, collaborative, and product-minded engineers who want to make a difference.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer to help lead the next chapter of our product journey. You’ll play a key role in building features, improving infrastructure, and shaping technical strategy as we scale and expand into new markets.

This is a high-impact, full-stack role ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and thinking holistically about product development—from code quality to customer experience.

What You’ll Do:

Build and Improve the Product

  • Design, build, and ship new features using Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript
  • Refactor and enhance existing systems for better scalability and maintainability
  • Debug complex issues, including gateway timeouts and performance bottlenecks
  • Implement conditional logic, encryption, and secure data handling
  • Contribute to multi-tenancy and third-party integrations

Support Infrastructure & Operations

  • Maintain and configure cloud infrastructure (GCP, Heroku)
  • Manage DNS (e.g., Cloudflare), SSL certificates, and load balancing
  • Optimize background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq) and use observability tools (Sentry, Scout, Metrics Explorer)
  • Address security concerns, including dependency management and DAST tools

Collaborate on Product Strategy

  • Translate customer and team feedback into tech solutions
  • Participate in roadmap planning and define product requirements
  • Break down projects into incremental, shippable pieces
  • Write technical documentation and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs)
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging contractors and contribute to sourcing contract talent

Improve Engineering Processes

  • Identify and implement process improvements across testing, deployments, and PR workflows
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, contractors, and/or interns
  • Champion code quality, systematization, and team standards

Drive Insights with Data

  • Improve reporting, dashboards, and data exports for internal and external use
  • Ensure accuracy and usability of analytics tools (Segment, Google Analytics)
  • Support product usage tracking and team productivity measurement

Explore AI and Emerging Tools

  • Use tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Perplexity to accelerate development
  • Experiment with new platforms for collaboration, prototyping, and visualization
  • Contribute to our exploration of AI and automation features in the product

What We’re Looking For

✅ Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience in a SaaS environment
  • Proficient in Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks
  • Experience with GCP (or similar cloud platforms), Postgres, Sidekiq, and related infrastructure
  • Strong grasp of database design, query optimization, and scalable architecture
  • Strong user of Git, GitHub, and Agile practices (e.g., Jira)

💡 Product & Collaboration Skills

  • Product-minded: you care about delivering value and the business case for the product, not just writing code
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and systems thinking
  • Comfortable collaborating with non-technical teams like Sales, Customer Success, and Design
  • Excellent communication skills and a bias toward action
  • Adaptable and excited by change, you thrive in a fast-moving, growing company

Bonus Points

  • Experience in early-stage or growth-stage companies
  • Exposure to edtech, HR tech, or other feedback-centric platforms
  • Interest in or experience with AI integration into user-facing tool

Why Join Possip?

  • High impact: Your work will directly shape our product and company strategy and our company directly impacts millions of people
  • Mission-driven: Help build tools that make listening easier and more meaningful
  • Growth-oriented: Learn, grow, and influence as part of a small but mighty team
  • Flexible and remote: Work where and how you thrive best
